Gator Swim Team

The Gator Swim Team is a summer-only competitive swim team, open to all children who are between the ages of 5 and 18 on June 1st. Children who are not members of Great Hills Country Club, Jester Club, or Lakewood Homeowners' Association can join for an additional fee. The child must be able to swim a pool length of freestyle, breathing every third stroke and a pool length of backstroke (Swim America Level 6) before the first meet of the season. Swimmers who are not yet ready for the competitive team can sign up for GHST Swim School.
The Gator Swim Team is a member of the Austin Aquatic League and competes against the following member teams: Balcones Woods, Westover Hills, and Forest Creek.

The Austin Aquatic League was formed to create a friendly atmosphere for the benefit and personal satisfaction of our children. The league strives to offer an opportunity for children and young people to challenge themselves, to learn and think in a positive manner, to be part of a team and to enjoy the experience of clean competition and good sportsmanship.

Melanie Brewer
Melanie Brewer is returning for her second season as the Gator's head coach.
She has 12 years of coaching experience including coaching age group teams in Iowa, San Antonio (AAAA), and Austin (COTA).
Melanie has 21 years of swimming experience.
She swam for the University of Northern Iowa and currently participates with United States Masters Swimming.
She is also a 7th grade science teacher for RRISD.
